The Studio

Nestled in the heart of Gastown, Vancouver, Mikey’s studio is a bright, colorful, and unapologetically playful space designed to spark creativity and comfort. Large color blocks in both soft and vibrant hues cover the walls, creating an inviting atmosphere that feels like stepping into a dreamscape. The walls are adorned with framed critters and words, a reflection of Mikey’s love for organic forms and thoughtful typography. Disco balls are scattered throughout, casting shimmering light across the room—because what’s better than a little sparkle?
This queer-run space prioritizes safety, inclusivity, and comfort, ensuring that every client feels welcomed and at ease. Whether you’re here for a tattoo or just to soak in the creative energy, the studio is a space where self-expression is celebrated.

As my studio is located in Gastown, Vancouver, which exists on the unceded, ancestral, and traditional territories of the The xÊ·mÉ™θkÊ·É™yÌ“É™m (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and sÉ™lilwÉ™taɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. It is important to acknowledge that we are guests on this land. Colonization has caused lasting harm, and it’s important to recognize that this land was never freely given.
As an Indigenous artist, I strive to honor the voices, histories, and resilience of Indigenous communities through my work and my space. I encourage everyone who enters this studio to do so with the same respect for the land and the people to whom it rightfully belongs.
Finding the Studio
Located at the corner of Abbott St. and Cordova St., right next to The Metropole, the entrance may seem unassuming. Look for the blank door with a buzzer directory on the east side of Abbott St.—you’ll receive the buzzer code once you’re booked in.
When you arrive:
• The door can be a little fussy—when buzzed in, push the door on the right.
• You’ll enter a stairwell—head all the way to the top to floor three and through the door.
• Two washrooms are located in the hall to the right of the studio.
Accessibility
Due to the building’s age, there is no elevator, making the studio unfortunately inaccessible to some. However, Mikey is committed to accommodating all clients, so if you cannot use stairs, an alternate arrangement can be made—just select this option on the booking form.
This space is more than just a studio—it’s a reflection of Mikey’s art, values, and community. Whether you’re here for a piece of art or just a safe and welcoming environment, you’re in the right place.
